StatSheet Projects Baylor as NCAA Tournament Bubble Team Nine Seed: 01/29/2013

StatSheet projects Baylor as an NCAA Tournament bubble team with a possible nine seed. The Bears are unranked in the AP Poll and sit at #40 in the StatSheet StatRank with a 14-5 overall record and a 5-1 record in the Big 12.

Over the last four games, Baylor registered a quality win against RPI #43 Oklahoma State and wins against TCU and Hardin-Simmons but also dropped one against AP #2 Kansas.

Baylor is below average against top competition, with a 5-4 record against the RPI Top 100 but a 2-3 record against the RPI Top 50 and an 0-2 record against AP ranked teams. The Bears have three quality wins including RPI #43 Oklahoma State, RPI #40 Brigham Young, and RPI #48 St. John's. Their single bad loss came against RPI #148 College of Charleston.

The last four teams into the NCAA Tournament with at-large bids are Memphis (16-3, 5-0 C-USA, StatRank #50), Virginia Commonwealth (16-5, 4-2 A-10, StatRank #38), Maryland (15-5, 3-4 ACC, StatRank #65), and Rutgers (12-7, 3-5 Big East, StatRank #54).

The first four teams out are Alabama (12-7, 4-2 SEC, StatRank #69), Brigham Young (16-6, 6-2 West Coast, StatRank #48), Bucknell (17-4, 4-1 Patriot, StatRank #43), and Kentucky (13-6, 4-2 SEC, StatRank #70).

The next four out are Florida State (11-8, 3-3 ACC, StatRank #69), Iowa (13-7, 2-5 Big Ten, StatRank #81), Charlotte (16-4, 4-2 A-10, StatRank #51), and Wyoming (15-4, 2-4 Mountain West, StatRank #55).
